Rachel Throne

Rachel joined the Galveston Bay Foundation in February 2025 after graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Environmental Studies and Forestry. She spent her academic career involved in community science and mutual aid initiatives and continues that work here at GBF on the Water Protection team. Before GBF, Rachel worked with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation as well as Tennessee’s Seven Islands State Birding Park where she did water monitoring, bird surveys, and GIS analysis. In her free time, she enjoys collaging, gardening, and plenty of reality television.
