Investing in Our Future

We believe investing in education is one of the most meaningful ways you can preserve Galveston Bay for generations to come. Our education programs get students of all ages outdoors and connected with nature through hands-on STEM curriculum helping to inspire youth to become the future stewards of the Bay. The K-12 TEKS-aligned programs below represent just a few from our more comprehensive education portfolio.

If you participate in these lessons, we’d love to hear from you! Please fill out this survey about your experience.

This project was created in partnership with NOAA.

Our Students

"Living farther from the Bay used to make me feel like I had little impact on the Bay life, but after learning about Galveston Bay and having the opportunity to grow cordgrass, I now look at my actions in a new light. I strive to make a more conscious effort to protect the Bay through my daily activities."

– Elizabeth Makondekwa, Westside High School Student (HISD) and Wetland Connection Participant

Each program area is broad and deep, offering a range of solutions and opportunities to preserve the Bay for generations to come. We envision a future Galveston Bay that is brimming with vitality, connected to people, and contributing to the community in every possible way.
