
Haille Leija
Director of Programs
Haille joined the Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) in March 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean and Coastal Resources from Texas A&M University at Galveston and a Master of Science degree in Coastal Zone Management from Nova SE University. Prior to joining GBF, Haille gained experience in regulatory compliance and ecology with the US Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, in environmental education in Florida, and in the private industry as an environmental consultant. During her first 8 years at GBF, Haille served as a Habitat Restoration Project Manager, implementing oyster reef restoration as well as living shoreline projects. Haille now provides oversight for GBF’s 6 programs, supporting talented staff and administering government grants. In her free time, Haille enjoys serving at church, dancing, spending time on the water, and hiking trails with her husband, son, and two dogs.
