Elisa Oneal

Volunteer Manager

Elisa joined the Galveston Bay Foundation in March of 2023. Prior to joining GBF, she worked for three years as Volunteer Coordinator at Armand Bayou Nature Center, where she had been an active volunteer since 2015. She brings 13 years of experience combining corporate IT expertise with freelance design and project management. Elisa’s work is shaped by studies in philosophy, religious traditions, and Mandarin Chinese, along with two years living and studying in China as a Chinese Bridge Scholarship recipient. She is a Texas Master Naturalist and an active member of the Galveston Bay Area Chapter, currently serving on the Advanced Training Committee. Elisa is passionate about helping people find their niche as environmental stewards and believes meaningful conservation happens when individuals feel welcomed, capable, and connected to place. In her spare time, she enjoys building community as a founding chapter member of Latino Outdoors Houston, and trains and competes in Kuk Sool Won, a traditional Korean martial art.
