Leiá Wilson

Board Member

Leiá Wilson is the Director of Channel Infrastructure Operations at Port Houston. She oversees berth maintenance of Port owned facilities, coordinates with USACE-SWG district on Houston Ship Channel (HSC) maintenance and improvement dredging, channel planning, operations and maintenance of Dredge Material Placement Areas. Currently, and advocacy as the HSC non-federal sponsor. Recently managed multiple Port-led contracts on the HSC Expansion Channel Improvement Project (ECIP) also known as Project 11.

Before joining Port Houston in October 2021, Leiá worked in the dredging industry for 15 years starting out as an intern then joining full-time as an Engineer, and working up the ranks as a Cost Estimator, Project Manager, Site Manager and Gulf Regional Production Engineer at Great Lakes Dredge & Dock (GLDD). She is involved in Texas dredging and navigation safety issues as well as promoting the protection and enhancement of natural resources of Galveston Bay. Leiá is a member of the Loan Star Harbor Safety Committee Managing Board, Chair of the Houston/Galveston Beneficial Use Group (BUG) and on the Board of Directors for the Galveston Bay Foundation. Leiá earned a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University.
